Why:
It is natural to drift apart from your girlfriends as many life changes take place once you move on from school days onto the life of careers, marriages, kids and developing new interests.
Often these changes seem to happen at different times for different people, which means that friends end up drifting apart. One thing that does not change is that by nature women are social beings and look to their support system of girlfriends to share their lives and deal with those "stresses" that men often don't understand.
However, as a woman you know how hard it is to meet other women for friendship, especially once you are out of school and start a career. Let's not kid ourselves, women are intimidated by each other and intimidate one another. As we get older, opportunities to meet other women become harder and we also get stuck in our comfort zone.
The Social Woman was created for women of Toronto and Montreal to connect with other like-minded women for friendship. Finding that perfect friend takes time, much like finding a perfect partner. Whether you are looking to expand your social circle, are new to the city, or you are a single woman surrounded by married friends, a busy professional, a new mom looking to connect with other moms, or simply looking for an activity partner or someone to have coffee with- The Social Woman is the place for you!
Who: Anyone (well, women) can join. All ages are welcome.
Where: The Social Woman is a local community. We currently are based in Toronto and Montreal. We decided to keep it local to make it easier for women to make real friendships and meet at local events in their city.
